## What it's like

When we first wrote about The Falls Resort in 2015, it was a small hotel in the middle of Manuel Antonio. In 2026 it's called The Falls by Lalibela, and its official site was taking bookings when we checked it in October 2026.

The hotel is at the top of the hill in Manuel Antonio, on the road between Quepos and the national park. It says the property borders [Manuel Antonio National Park](/manuel-antonio-national-park/), and that the area's restaurants and stores are about 10 minutes away on foot, or 5 minutes by bus or car. That's handy, because Manuel Antonio is spread along one winding road and walking isn't always practical.

## Rooms and facilities

Rooms come in several types: jungle rooms, deluxe rooms, double queen rooms and an equipped apartment for longer stays or families. They're set among gardens and rainforest, with an infinity pool at the center.

Medusa, the in-house restaurant, serves international dishes, seafood and Peruvian food, plus cocktails. The concierge books tours such as ziplining, ATV rides and catamaran trips.

## Where it fits in a trip

Manuel Antonio deserves 2 or 3 nights: one full day for the national park, which opens early and is closed on certain days, plus time for the beaches and a boat or wildlife tour. It's a common stop after [Monteverde](/monteverde/) or [Arenal](/arenal-la-fortuna-area/), and it works as a last stop before flying home from San José, which is about 3 hours away by road.

Our [Manuel Antonio guide](/manuel-antonio/) has the details on park days, tickets and where else to stay, and [Parador Nature Resort](/hotel-parador-resort-and-spa/) is a bigger, full-service alternative nearby.

## Who it suits (and who it doesn't)

It suits couples and families who want a mid-size hotel with a pool and jungle setting, within walking distance of places to eat.

It isn't a beachfront hotel, and the hill location means some walking up and down. If you want an all-inclusive or a big resort with kids' clubs, look elsewhere.

## Getting there

From San José, most travelers drive or take a shuttle to Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Quepos also has a small domestic airport with flights from San José. The hotel's address is 30 m south of the Mini Price Market in Manuel Antonio.
